Everyone who uses a computer nowadays knows the name 'Microsoft'. Almost all of our Operating-systems & computer software come from Microsoft, therefore we're operating it in our homes & on the job each day. Now thirty five years of age, 'Microsoft' really became noticed in the 1980's by taking over the Home marketplace for Computer operating-systems with their first versions of Windows. While the Microsoft MCSA and 'MCSE' qualifications have been available for a number of yrs now, (keeping up with 'Windows' server through it's evolution,) the 'MCSA' '2003' and MCSE 2003 are the main-stay of current Microsoft Network certification. It should however be noted that up-grade training to Server 2008 is imminent, and desirable wherever possible.

Even though the 'MCSA' and the MCSE are regularly grouped in the same career-path, they are basically very different. The 'MCSA' (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) is an accreditation made for individuals who are looking to get into server administration, networking and senior-support careers. Anyone looking for technical-systems employment, managing the functions of a medium size or small company-network might opt for the MCSA. You will get a great deal out of this job if you're a highly organised problem solver that enjoys a strong technical challenge. There is a great deal of variance within the working day, & because the role requires supplying support to users of the network, there is also a good deal of connection with others.

The 'Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer' (MCSE) will prepare you to get a more responsible position of management in project work, design and planning. If senior-administration, network management, senior Security employment or project/technical management is your ultimate objective, then this is the direction you should think of taking. The MCSE is perhaps not so well known for its training on creative and leadership problem-solving expertise, that are also crucial for those working in Senior technical careers.
